Collision involving motorbike leaves 11-year-old with serious leg injuries

A 28 year old man from Gloucester has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop.

An 11 year old boy has been taken to hospital in Gloucester with serious leg - after a collision involving a motorbike yesterday afternoon (27 March).

A 28 year old man from Gloucester has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop.

Police and the Ambulance Service were called at around 3.20pm with a report of a collision between a motorcyclist and a pedestrian near to Falkner Street and Midland Road.

It is reported that the motorcyclist then put the boy on to his motorbike and drove him without a helmet towards Brunswick Road.

The motorbike is described as a blue Yamaha with the registration beginning RE71.

The boy was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with serious leg injuries where he remains.

The motorcyclist is believed to have been driving in a group with other motorcyclists.

Officers investigating the collision are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision may and anyone who may have relevant CCTV or dashcam footage.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 and quote incident 291 of 27 March.

UPDATE: 28 year-old Claude Bond of Falkner Street in Gloucester has been charged with causing serious injury by careless/inconsiderate driving and other offences.

He has been bailed and is due to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on Tuesday 11 April.
