Cold weather alert in place across Gloucestershire
A cold weather alert has been issued by the UK Health Security Agency.
It comes as many people across Gloucestershire are still grappling with the damage caused by flooding following a week of heavy rainfall.
The cold snap is expected to last for several days and will be lifted on Friday (12/1).
Temperatures are forecast to fall below average with frosty mornings likely.
It comes at a difficult time for some people across Gloucestershire who are already struggling to pay to heat their homes.
The Churn Project in Cirencester hosts a community warm space every Friday. They said reliance on their service is increasing.
Erin Hughes, the Fundraising and Marketing manager there, said: "There are more people who need the service, and people who already relied on the service need it more.
"In a cold snap like this if you are already struggling with the burden of having to chose whether to heat or to eat it really has an impact on people's wellbeing."
