Cinderford man jailed for murder of friend

A man from Cinderford has been sentenced to 17 years in prison following the murder of his friend.

It follows a stabbing in the town on 8 December last year.

Scott Hopkins, who was 36, was stabbed at a flat on the High Street.

Michael Beach, who's 46 and of Ruspidge Road in Cinderford, was jailed for 17 years - minus the 182 days he has already spent on remand.

He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £228.

It's after he was found guilty of murder by jurors at Gloucester Crown Court on Friday.
