Tetbury former Royal butler gives Christmas etiquette tips
Hosts should be prepared to cater for their guest's every need.
Grant Harold, a former butler to King Charles III, is telling people what to prepare ahead of Christmas parties.
He said: "Be careful with regifting, because if it's a gift you were given by a family member last year you might risk giving it back, and I have seen that happen.
"If you're a host you've got to make sure you've got everything that you need.
"As a guest you need to make sure the host is aware of your dietary requirements.
"You don't want to arrive and realise there's something on the menu you can't have."
This year, with more people owning electrical vehicles, there are growing concerns around car charging etiquette.
A survey carried out by Direct Line Motor Insurance found only 46% of people would be happy letting visitors charge their car at their home.
With one in ten people saying they would never let someone use their charging point.
Grant Harold has given advice on how to avoid awkward situations.
He said: "In advance let your host know you own an electric car and ask if there is somewhere you can charge it.
"Don't ask in a way that you are automatically assuming you will be able to charge it at their house."
"You can offer money, and if they refuse money give a gift. Something to say thank you."
