Two children injured in crash at Chipping Sodbury Christmas markets

Two children have been injured in a collision at a Christmas market in Chipping Sodbury in south Gloucestershire.
Avon and Somerset Police were called to the high street of the town at around 12 noon on Sunday afternoon (December 1st).
Police said that a driver had been attempting to manoeuvre out of a parking space when he collided with pedestrians on High Street.
The driver - a man in his 80s - alongside seven pedestrians, including five adults and two children - were injured in the incident.
Emergency services including the South Western Ambulance Service attended the scene to treat the victims.
Organisers of the event posted on Facebook that officers had advised them to carry on with the Christmas markets.
In a statement, the organisers said: "As many of you are aware there has been an incident at the top of the High Street.
"We have been advised by the police not to cancel today's event so the remainder of the High Street from Hobbs House Bakery down towards Broad Street and Horse Street is still open.
"We would ask anyone attending today to please not take photos of the incident, and not speculate on social media as we work the emergency services to help those people who need assistance."
Meanwhile, an investigation has been opened with anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident to get in touch as soon as possible.
