Cheltenham’s Lido went to the dogs over the weekend as hundreds of canine swimmers and their owners took part in the annual Dee & Griffin Dog Swim.

The much-loved event, which marked the end of the lido’s summer season, invited dogs and their owners to dive in and enjoy a unique swimming experience together.

Owners joined their pets in the 21°C pool—some wading in alongside their dogs to help them feel more confident in the water.

After their swims, dogs were hosed down to remove chlorine, with outdoor showers and hoses available on site.

Water bowls were also provided to keep the four-legged swimmers hydrated.

In addition to the swimming sessions, visitors enjoyed browsing a range of stallholders offering pet products, treats, and local goods.

A raffle was also held, with prizes including a Lido season ticket and free entry to next year’s dog swim.

Organisers described the weekend as a huge success, celebrating both community spirit and the bond between people and their pets.

The event once again highlighted the lido’s reputation as one of Cheltenham’s most family—and dog—friendly attractions.
