Police launch appeal after woman dealt homophobic abuse in Cheltenham
The woman was pushed by a group of teenager before being verbally abused
Police in Gloucestershire are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted and verbally abused using homophobic language in Cheltenham.
Officers were alerted to the incident shortly after the assault took place at 6:15pm on April 28th.
In the incident, the woman had been walking past the Pittville Pump Rooms when she was approached by a group of teenagers aged between 14 and 17.
As she passed them, the group pushed her and subjected her to intense homophobic abuse before walking away.
The woman was left visibly shaken by the altercation but was physically unharmed by the skirmish.
Gloucestershire Police have now opened a case into the incident, and have urged anyone with any relevant information to come forward as soon as possible.
In particular, the force are urging anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the attack, as well as any relevant CCTV footage, to get in touch.
