All waste and recycling collections have been suspended again, and the household recycling centre is closed.

It's due to the heavy snowfall over the weekend and continued freezing conditions today (Tuesday 13 December 2022).

The household recycling centre in Swindon Road is expected to be open as normal on tomorrow (Wednesday 14 December 2022)

Cheltenham Borough Council say collections will also resume tomorrow (Wednesday), weather conditions allowing.

Residents are being asked to put their recycling boxes, food caddies and bins out on their normal scheduled collection day and leave them out.

The council say as soon as conditions are safe enough, collection crews will collect as soon as possible this week.

Meanwhile, the local authority say that over the weekend and yesterday (Monday 12 December 2022), street cleansing crews prioritised clearing snow and ice within the town centre and high foot fall areas in the borough.

Footpaths were dug out creating safe walkways throughout town centre and a salt application was applied.

They say the entrances to all town centre car parks as well as the pay points were also treated with salt. We're told street cleansing crews will be continuing this today.

The council is advising residents to check www.cheltenham.gov.uk to get the latest advice.
