Utility boxes in Cheltenham are being given a new lease of life by local street artists.

The project, which is being commissioned by Cheltenham BID, hopes to reduce graffiti and vandalism in the area.

Sight impaired artist, Sarah Goddard, is one of the many artists getting involved with the project.

She said: "People have been fascinated by the project and they are enjoying the transformation of the boxes, which were looking pretty scruffy and unloved before.

"They've all got different themes tied to Cheltenham. I'm doing Morse code messaging on the boxes to tie in with Cheltenham's link to GCHQ.

"Having the boxes more colourful and interesting brings a bit of pride to the town, and smartens up these boxes."
