Cheltenham Town FC are gearing up to take on their unlikely opponent Manchester City at in their fourth round FA Cup tie.

At the pre-match presser, manager Michael Duff has described the fixture against the world-class team as "the ultimate free hit" on Saturday afternoon.

The announcement of the fixture has galvanised the local town and community with a Crowdfunder setup to raise money for the club nearing £25,000.

Speaking at Thursday's pre patch press event, Manager Michael Duff said:

"There'll be a little bit of trepidation because they're not bad. But there'll be a sort of nervous excitement.

"It's also a chance for them to get away rom the League and it'll give the players a little bit of attention which will be nice for them".

The Robins are taking on one of the Premiere League's finest teams and also hosting them at Johnny Rocks Stadium.

Michael added:

"This is a little bit of sugar for the lads but on Monday we'll crack on with the League as usual.

"All we've got to do is give a really good account of ourselves and you never know what might happen - it is the FA Cup."

Michael said his squad a running a bit thin on the ground with injuries in some key players like Chris Hussy, Lewis Freestone and Scott Flinders.

He continued:

"We'll just try to make it as difficult as possible for them Man City.

"We've got things like a long throw, we've got player who are good in the air in terms of set plays - we'll just do our work and best".
