Cheltenham police investigate report of a serious sexual assault in Montpellier Gardens

Police are appealing for witnesses after a report of a serious sexual assault in Cheltenham.

Officers were called out yesterday evening at around 6.20pm to a report that a teenage girl had been seriously sexually assaulted in Montpellier Gardens.

Police have begun an investigation and forensic inquiries are taking place in the local area today. A guard has been at the scene.

The teenage girl is currently being supported by specialist police officers and partner agencies.

Detectives are reviewing CCTV footage from Montpellier Gardens. They are now appealing for witnesses or anyone who was in the area at the time who saw something suspicious, to come forward.

Police are keen for anyone with information to call 101 and quote incident 332.
