More than a thousand pounds has already been raised in an attempt to save the Cheltenham Paint Festival.

The annual event attracts street artists from around the world to create elaborate artwork that covers the walls of the Spa Town.

Over the weekend they posted on their social media that with "great sadness" they had to announce that the Cheltenham Paint Festival would not go ahead in 2023.

In the statement they described their high hopes for this year's festival, "Despite lining up our biggest walls yet, having some incredible artists lined up and with no Upfest or Bring the Paint, I was looking forward to being the biggest in the country this year.

"However we are nowhere near our funding target and some of our usual sponsors have chosen other projects to support this year."

Sadly, the organiser aren't to say if the fundraising will keep this year's event or if they'll be back next year.
