Max Wilkinson MP will give the second reading of his Sunshine Bill in parliament today.

The bill, formerly known as the ‘New Homes (Solar Generation) Bill’ would ensure all new homes come with solar panels as a standard.

The bill aims to lower the use of fossil fuels and help decrease carbon emissions in the UK and would also help lower the price of homeowners energy bills.

If successful, the bill would enter a ‘Committee Stage’ where it is examined in more detail.

Max Wilkinson told Greatest Hits Radio "having solar panels included on all new bill houses is going to mean that people are able to have lower energy bills, its means that the planet will benefit as well."

He says if the bill goes through it will be a "win-win situation."
