Cheltenham Ladies College, one of the leading schools for girls, has fallen victim to online fraud.

As first reported in the Telegraph, the college's website which hires out the school's venues for parties, dinner and special occasions, was duplicated by a suspected fraudster.

An investigation led by the Official Registry for UK Domain Names, Nominet, found that a site going by "clcvenues.com" was using the college's trademark CLC acronym, official school crest and the exact photos used on the college's website.

In the report, the alleged fraudster's website is said to be a "carbon copy ... offering services identical to those offered on the Complainant's (Cheltenham Ladies College) website which is covered by the CLC Trade Mark."

Cheltenham Ladies College have been contacted for a comment.
