The Grand Annual Steeple Chase cup has been recovered by South Yorkshire Police.

The famous horse racing trophy, dating back to 1834, was taken during a burglary at Camelot Silverware in Sheffield.

In a tweet, South Yorkshire Police said, "A valuable trophy which was being worked on ahead of the Cheltenham Festival and was taken during a burglary at Camelot Silverware on Gibraltar Street (Sheffield) ... has now been recovered."

The Grand Annual Chase, a two mile race covering 14 fences, will take place on the second day of the Cheltenham Festival (14th - 17th of March).
