Darren Elliott, 54, died in Gloucestershire Royal Hospital on Tuesday 8 February after collapsing on Southgate Street the previous day.

Detectives have been trying to piece together his final 48 hours, leading up to his death.

They are now hoping that the customers at Kebab Express on Bristol Road may have information about the circumstances leading up to the incident.

The customers are not being treated as suspects but officers would like to speak to them about anything they may have witnessed.

CCTV images of the customers who were in the kebab shop at the same time as Mr Elliott have now been released in the hope of jogging their memories.

Mr Elliott had visited the shop to buy food on Sunday 6 February between 8.40pm and 8.50pm. A number of customers were in the shop at the time and officers are hoping that one of them will remember seeing Mr Elliott, who had only one leg and used a wheelchair to aid his mobility.

Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have assisted a person in a wheelchair, or may have seen them in difficulty, between Kebab Express on Bristol Road and Robinhood Street at around that time.

Detective Inspector Adam Stacey, of Major Crime Investigations Team, said: "There were a number of customers in Kebab Express on Sunday night, when Mr Elliott was buying food.

"We would like to hear from any of them who may remember seeing Mr Elliott. Nobody is under suspicion but anything they can think of, no matter how small, could help our investigation."

A post-mortem is being carried out to establish the cause of death.

Officers would also like to speak to anybody with CCTV or dashcam footage, particularly along Bristol Road, who has not already spoken to the police.

Anyone with information should contact officers through the website, quoting incident 482 of 7 February.
