Firefighters were called to Stroud Road in Brookthorpe at 8:47 this morning (3rd June), after reports of a vehicle fire.

Two fire engines were sent to the scene, from Gloucester South and Stroud, to tackle the fire involving a 4x4 pickup.

Police initially put road closures in place, though the road has now re-opened in both directions.

The car was completely damaged by fire but fortunately, there were no casualties.

The closures caused rush-hour chaos this morning, with delays across bus routes in the area.
