A warning has been issued after a series of burglaries in towns and villages in the Cotswolds.

Gloucestershire Police believe thieves are targeting high-performance vehicles and breaking into properties to take car keys and other items.

They say patrols are taking place and work is ongoing to try and locate and those involved.

While enquiries continue, police are asking people to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity, such as people scoping out properties by driving by slowly in vehicles.

The force says the majority of the incidents have happened during the daytime, mainly in the afternoon, and have involved a group of people wearing face coverings and in possession of golf clubs or crowbars.

They have then fled at speed in a vehicle, and several different vehicles have been used in the crimes.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who has not already spoken to police and who may have CCTV or dashcam footage which could assist the ongoing investigations.
