Body found in search for missing Gloucestershire man

A body has been found by police searching for a missing man from Gloucestershire.

42-year-old Marcin Jakobian was last seen on Tuesday 28 May.

Detectives say it's thought he'd travelled to Norfolk.

Norfolk Police say a discovery in Thetford Forest is thought to be his body but formal identification is yet to take place.

A Norfolk Police spokesperson said: "Police can confirm the body of a man has been found in woodland near Thetford.

"The discovery was made at around 5.30pm this afternoon (Wednesday 29 May 2024) in Brettenham Heath National Nature Reserve.

"Emergency services attended including police and ambulance.

"While the body has yet to be formally identified, the family of Marcin Jakobian who has been missing since yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 28 May) has been informed.

"Inquiries are ongoing but the death is not believed to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
