Three vehicles were driven at a supermarket during an attempted ram raid burglary in Bishops Cleeve.
Police were called just after 1.50am with a report that three vehicles had been driven at Tesco Superstore on Church Road.
No-one gained entry to the shop - but extensive damage was caused.
It is believed that a light coloured van and two dark coloured 4x4s were involved and officers would like to speak to anyone who saw any suspicious vehicles or activity in the area at the time.
Anyone with information is being urged to contact officers.
