Series of arson attacks in Cheltenham and Stroud in one night

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward

Gloucestershire Police are appealing for witnesses following a number of arsons over the weekend.

Police have received reports of four incidents predominantly in Cheltenham but also in Stroud.

The series of fires began late on Saturday (5 June) evening, going into the early hours of Sunday (6 June).

One incident happened on Butterow Hill, Stroud which was reported to police around 11.40pm after a car had been set on fire.

The arson of another car happened in Hardwick, Cheltenham, which was reported to police around 12.20am.

There was also the arson of two hedges and a fence in the Prestbury and Southam areas of Cheltenham which were all reported to police between 2.30am and 2.50am.

It is unknown if all of the arsons are linked at this stage.

Police are keen to speak to any witnesses of the incidents or anyone who may have any information on them.
