The sculpture hopes to encourage discussions around the dangers of carrying weapons.

The anti-violence bee was made by the British Iron Work Centre, who also created the Knife Angel. It will be visiting Gloucester from 16 to 20 February.

It follows the success of the Knife Angel's visit last year.

Lizzy Hathaway-White, from Gloucester Cathedral, said: "We found in the three months following the Knife Angel being here anonymous reporting in the city rose by 50%, showing the incredible impact that campaign had."

It is hoped the bee will have a similar impact.

Lizzy, said: "Talking to young people about being active bystanders and anonymous reporting will encourage them to help keep us all safe."

The Bee's funded by the Knife Angel Legacy Fund, Crimestoppers and Gloucester BID, and is being supported by partners across Gloucestershire, including: The Hollie Gazzard Trust, The Music Works, Hundred Heroines, Gloucester CitySafe, Nettl, 1st Call Plant Ltd, Gloucestershire College and Hartpury University and College.

The Bee will tour the city from Friday 16 February. Its journey begins in Kings Square. It will then buzz to Gloucester Cathedral Green on Saturday 17 February. Before moving to the Docks on Sunday 18 February.

The arrival of The Bee comes at a significant time for Gloucester as it marks the 10th anniversary of Hollie Gazzard's death.
