A motorcyclist has died in a crash near Cirencester

A woman has died following a single vehicle collision near Cirencester last night (30/7).

Emergency services were called to the B4425 in Barnsley shortly before 8pm with a report that a motorcyclist had collided with a tree.

The rider of the motorcycle, a woman in her 40s from Swindon, sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Road closures remain in place between the B4425 Welsh Way and from the junction with the A417 while collision investigation work takes place.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or have any information to get in touch.
