A teenage boy has been charged with common assault following reports of anti-social behaviour in Gloucester on Tuesday (17 June).
The 16-year-old from Wolverhampton, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested in connection with an assault on a 70-year-old man in Gloucester Quays that day.
He has been released on bail and will next appear before Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on Friday 4 July. As part of his conditions, he is banned from entering Gloucester.
A spokesperson for the force said:
"Police issued a dispersal order on Tuesday which runs until 8pm tonight (Thursday 19 June) following a number of reports of anti-social behaviour across the city over the last few weeks.
The order gives officers the power to direct anyone causing disorder or causing harassment, alarm or distress to any member of the public to leave the area and not return. If they refuse, they can be arrested."
