Woman dies following blaze at tenement flats in Glasgow

A woman has died following a blaze at a block of tenement flats in Glasgow on Tuesday morning.
Fire crews were called around 9.06am to reports of a dwelling fire at Spiershall Close, Yoker.
She was taken to hospital and later passed away.
Area Commander David Murdoch is the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service’s Local Senior Officer for City of Glasgow.
He said: “Operations Control mobilised four fire appliances and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting a tenement flat.
“One woman was taken to hospital. Sadly, she later passed away.
“Our thoughts are very much with her family, friends and the wider community at this difficult time.”
