Woman and dog die after being struck by Land Rover in Port Glasgow
Forty-two year-old Amy Gray was out with her dog Reggie this morning when they died.
A woman and her dog have died after being hit by a car in Port Glasgow this morning.
Amy Gray, 42, and Reggie were struck by a Land Rover Sport while crossing the eastbound carriageway of Greenock Road at around 7.05am.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, but both Amy and Reggie were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Land Rover was not injured, and the road has since reopened.
Sergeant Patrick McWilliams, from Police Scotland’s Road Policing unit, said: "We have specialist officers with Mrs Gray's family at this extremely difficult time.
"I'd ask anyone who witnessed the collision, or who have dashcam footage of the incident, to contact police."
