Don't leave your car running unattended while it's defrosting
That's the message from Police Scotland after a double theft in Bearsden

Officers in East Dunbartonshire are reminding motorists to be vigilant following the theft of two vehicles while defrosting in Bearsden.
Around 7.20am on Tuesday, 28 November 2023 a Honda HRV was stolen from Montrose Drive, and an Audi Q5 vehicle was stolen from Ravelston Road around 7.30am on Thursday, 30 November 2023.
Police Inspector Alan Ferris said: “Investigations are underway to trace both vehicles. On both occasions, the owners of the vehicles had left them unattended with the engine running to defrost windscreens and windows.
“With temperatures low, I would urge motorists not to leave their vehicles unattended. A thief only takes a few seconds to enter your vehicle and make off.
“You should consider covering your windscreens at night using a manual scraper or de-icing product.
“Officers have been patrolling early morning in the area and have noticed several vehicles left to defrost with engines running and the keys in the ignition.
“This crime is entirely preventable and can be eliminated by simply not leaving your vehicle unattended whilst defrosting.
"Please help us keep your car and property safe.
“I would appeal to anyone with any information to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting 0507 of 28 November, 2023.”
