Tributes as 'doting dad' dies in hospital after crash in Cumbernauld

A 34-year-old man who was injured in a crash in Cumbernauld last month has died in hospital.

Jonathan Bruce passed away on Sunday 1 September, two weeks after being involved the single vehicle crash on the A8011, Glasgow Road, at around 9pm on 17 August.

Jonathan’s family have issued the following statement:

“Jonny was a loving, caring husband, and a doting dad to his three children. He was loved by so many and a great friend to everyone who knew him.

“We ask for privacy at what is a very difficult time for us as we try and come to terms with our loss.”

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and officers continue to appeal for information.

Road Policing Sergeant Ross Allison said: “Our thoughts are with Jonathan’s family and friends at this difficult time and we’ll continue to keep them updated as our investigations progress.

“I’d like to thank everyone who has come forward with information so far. Anyone who has information or dashcam footage of the area around the time, and hasn’t spoken to police yet, please get in touch.”
