Thousands of pounds worth of football equipment has been stolen in Bishopbriggs.
A container holding footballs, goalposts and cones belonging to East Dunbartonshire Football Club was thought to be taken yesterday afternoon.
Volunteer and coach David Cameron told Greatest Hits Radio: "The equipment and container was bought only 9 months ago after the hard work and fundraising from children, parents and family in the East Dunbartonshire area.
"This will impact around 300 local children between the age group of 5 and 18."
The team are getting ready for a summer football festival in just a few weeks which will involve more than 2,000 children.
David added: "We will now have to look for the help of local teams to help us with equipment for the festival in a few weeks time."
James Carlin is a coach for the 2004 team and said: "We started during the pandemic and it was really difficult to find funding to buy the strips that we needed and this feels like starting again.
"If we don't have equipment then we can't play football, it really is as simple as that.
"We are all volunteers with families and jobs, it is devastating to be told someone else has just turned up to take everything away from us."
