The Reeling festival kicks off in Glasgow for debut weekend
The two-day event will showcase a range of folk music acts
Hundreds are set to flock to Rouken Glen Park today as the first-ever Reeling festival kicks off.
The two-day folk music event starts today and is hosting acts including Skerryvore and Britain's Got Talent semi-finalist, Cammy Barnes.
The event is set to be the biggest weekend for Scottish Traditional music across the central belt, which, according to organisers, will address a gap for audiences.
Festival director Michel Pellegrotti said: "There's nothing in the central belt that's one single weekend, in one place, in front of a big stage for this kind of music.
"There are loads of great festivals across Scotland like HebCelt and Belladrum that are all servicing this type of music but there's nothing here in Glasgow.
"I think audiences can expect to see some incredible musical talent in a really fun way.
"Even if you haven't heard the music before or don't know the bands, it's still going to be enjoyable because its so high energy and fun.
"Great music, great food, great times."
'This is massive for Scotland'
The festival will mark Cammy Barnes', of Fife, first appearance since reaching the semi finals of Britain's Got Talent.
He said: "I feel so much happier standing here and not getting beat by a guy in his pants.
"I'm buzzing that this is my first gig since then.
"I'm a singer and songwriter that sings loads of heart breaking tunes down the mic in a Scottish accent.
"You'll be crying after my set, then you'll go see Skerryvore and be super happy.
"Trad music is at the heart of everything I do, so to see it thriving in such a big space - it's massive for Scotland."
