Trade union urge government for change
STUC has said the changes are a requirement to support the right of workers in Scotland.
Scotland’s largest trade union body released a six-point plan it wants to see the next government adhere to.
With a cry for change, the Scottish Trade Union Congress (STUC) have demanded that political parties must strengthen workers’ rights, invest in public services and increase taxation on the wealthy.
It also wants to see the Scottish Government be given more powers, invest in a green economy and support Palestinians.
STUC has said the changes are a requirement to support the right of workers in Scotland.
The trade union accused parties of invoking “hatred, division and scapegoating” during the election campaign.
Roz Foyer, general secretary of STUC, said: “This election needs to make a difference for workers.
“We need candidates to pledge their support to Scotland’s trade unionists.
“We need to be demanding better politics from our politicians and they need to stand by our working-class communities.”
STUC believe investment in the green economy can create over 350,000 jobs in the low carbon and renewable energy economy.
Any party elected has been called to support people in Palestine and “end the genocide”.
The STUC represents over 550,000 members.
