A second man has been arrested and charged in connection with the discovery of a “suspect item” in Clydebank last month.

The alarm was raised just after 1pm on Monday October 28, when people in Overtoun Court, Dunswin Avenue, were told to evacuate their flats by police.

The 41 year old man has been charged in connection with firearms offences and is due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Monday 11 November 2024.

A 26 year old man was previously arrested and charged with the same.

A Royal Navy bomb disposal squad carried out a controlled explosion after the device was found.
