When you leave work heading for home, the last thing you want is a run in with police - because your car won't stop.
Well for Brian Morrison, this is exactly what happened.
He was travelling from Kilsyth to Bishopbriggs when he realised he couldn't get his electric car to slow down.
Out of control
Telling us how he felt when realisation hit, he said: "I tried the emergency stop button, the park button, everything.
"The car just kept going; there was nothing I could do.
"I was worried for my life and I was also worried for other peoples lives."
He was driving an MG ZS EV along the A803 at the time and managed to make a panicked call to police.
Officers carried out a controlled crash which brought the car to a stop.
"I was worried for my life."
Brian described what happened: "It got to the point where I thought this is serious and I had to ring 999.
"Within five minutes blue lights were coming from both directions.
"The sergeant said we need to put this to a stop, are you willing to drive into the back of the police van?
"And that's what happened.
"It was a very, very terrifying experience."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.35pm on Sunday, 1 October, we received a report of a driver unable to stop his electric car on the A803 heading towards Kirkintilloch.
“The car was travelling at a low speed and officers carried out a controlled halt with the aid of a police vehicle. There was no damage to either vehicle.
“The driver arranged for the vehicle to be recovered.”
Manufacturer's response
A spokesperson for MG Motor UK said: "MG Motor UK has been urgently trying to make contact with Mr Morrison so that his vehicle can be fully inspected by our engineering team.
"We take this matter very seriously and now that contact has been made, we will be making every effort to resolve matters quickly and comprehensively for him."
