Rangers have completed the signing of FC Twente defender Robin Propper.

The 30-year-old joins for an undisclosed fee.

Propper made over 100 appearances for the Eredivisie side since joining from Heracles in 2021, and was club captain.

The Dutchman will bolster the centre of defence after the sale of Connor Goldson to Cypriot outfit Aris Limassol.

He told RangersTV: “Rangers is a big club and it feels really good to be here.

“I was glad to hear about the club wanting to sign me. I always said I wanted to have a new adventure in another country and when a club like Rangers comes in for you it feels surreal.

“This club breathes football and you want to play your football here.

“I spoke to Cyriel Dessers and Vaclav Cerny and they only had nice things to say about the club. It’s nice to see some familiar faces.

“You hear about the Rangers fans and how it is here and I am really happy to be here.”

He is the club's seventh addition of the summer, after Connor Barron, Jefte, Hamza Igamame, Liam Kelly, Clinton Nsiala and Vaclav Cerny.

Philippe Clement is continuing his rebuild with other experienced players like John Lundstram, Ryan Jack and Borna Barisic leaving this summer.

Many of their recruits have been younger additions with Propper adding more experience to their backline.

Rangers begin their Premiership campaign against Hearts at Tynecastle on Saturday lunchtime.
