Pollokshields is going to be the first fireworks control zone in Glasgow.
Councillors have met with police officers and fireworks and they've agreed the restriction will come into force between November 1 and November 10.
The rule change will ban people from letting them off in back gardens and public spaces.
Green councillor Jon Molyneux said: “These are new powers, being used for the first time in Scotland, so it will be important for the Council and Police Scotland to engage with local people so that everyone understands what is changing.
"Importantly, this sends a clear message from the Pollokshields community that the nuisance and disorder they have witnessed in the past is not wanted and that those who perpetrate it, or who enable others to do so."
The area has had problems with firework usage in previous years.
Back in 2018, officers were called when a child was struck by one.
Jon added: “I continue to believe that we need much wider restrictions, either by creating a city-wide control zone, or by persuading the new UK Government to clamp down on the general sale of fireworks, so that only licensed public displays are allowed.
"I'm pleased that the council is consulting on a future city-wide control zone and I will continue to campaign for comprehensive fireworks controls.”
