Police searching for three men after attempted murder in Govan
A 52 year old man remains in hospital after the attack on Friday afternoon.
Police are searching for three men in connection with an attempted murder in Glasgow that left a 52-year-old man in hospital. The incident, which saw a firearm discharged at a premises on the Drumoyne Road area of Govan, happened at about 4pm on Friday.
The 52-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment, and is said to be in a "stable" condition.
Police said they are now looking to trace three men who they said fled the scene in a dark-coloured Fiesta.
The car travelled on to the A739 to the Clyde Tunnel, and on to Cochno Road in Clydebank using the A82 Great Western Road and Glasgow Road.
The car was later found burnt out in a wooded area near Cochno Road.
The men, two of whom were wearing "dark clothing" and the third a "lighter-blue tracksuit", were then seen walking south on Faifley Road shortly after 5pm.
Detective Sergeant Laura Roberts said: "We believe they walked through the wooded area near Cochno Road and on to Faifley Road.
"The three men were seen shortly after 5pm, walking south on Faifley Road.
"I am appealing for anyone who was in this area between 4.30pm and 5.30pm on Friday October 25 2024 and saw three men acting suspiciously to contact us.
"It is also possible that they were in Drumoyne Road and the Faifley area of Clydebank in the days leading up to this incident.
"This area is popular with walkers, runners and dog walkers, I am asking anyone who was in this area on Friday afternoon to think back and consider if they saw anything unusual.
"Two of the men were wearing dark clothing and the third was wearing a lighter-blue tracksuit. They were all of medium build and had their hoods up."
Police Scotland are asking anyone with CCTV or dashcam from this time to review it and contact them with anything which may be relevant.
Det Sgt Roberts added: "No matter how small it may seem, the information you hold could be key to our investigation.
"We believe this was a targeted incident and there is not thought to be any wider risk to the public.
"As well as inquiries, including door-to-door and CCTV work, extra patrols are also being carried out.
"Anyone with concerns or information can speak to officers, contact Police Scotland via 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting incident number 2466 of Friday October 25, 2024."
