Detectives are continuing enquiries after a 77-year-old man was robbed in Viewpark, North Lanarkshire, on Sunday 14 July, 2024.

The incident occurred between 10.40 and 10.50pm on Sunday night on a footpath at Laburnum Road, near a youth club.

The 77-year-old was walking along the footpath when two males approached him from behind and pushed him to the ground.

They stole his bag which contained many of his personal belongings before running off.

Officers are continuing to check for any relevant CCTV footage which could provide information on the two suspects.

Detective Constable Ian Dymock said: “I am appealing to anyone who has any information on this incident or the two suspects to please get in touch with us.

"The victim did not seek medical treatment, but he has been badly affected by what has happened.

"I would ask anyone with dash cams or doorbell recording equipment to check their footage, it could have captured images of the two men which would assist our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 2200 of 16 July, 2024. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where you can give your information anonymously.
