Fifth annual Paisley Book Festival gets underway
The festival theme is 'Imagine Something Different' this year
Some famous faces are set to visit Paisley from today, as the annual Paisley Book Festival kicks off for its fifth year.
The event will run from today (April 25) to Saturday (April 28) and will takesplace in Paisley’s recently refurbished Town Hall and the new Paisley Central Library.
The festival's theme is ‘Imagine Something Different’ this year - which organisers say is reflects the town's growth and also for storytellers to explore creativity.
The full programme is available online with tennis coach Judy Murray, broadcaster Sally Magnusson and former Scotland international, Pat Nevin on the line up.
Programmer Jess Orr said: "The theme this year is partly inspired by Paisley itself and the way it has imagined something different for itself over the last few years.
"There are so many cultural activities and interesting things happening there now.
"We want to welcome audience members from all walks of life and all parts of the community - from children right up to our retired audiences.
"We really want to provide something that celebrates book, stories and writing in a town that is full of creativity and full of creative people.
"Creativity is such a communal thing.
"It's something that we share together and we're inspired by each other.
"Quite often, not just our audiences by our writers come away from the festival saying they've been inspired in writing their new books or collections by what they've heard and seen at Paisley Book Festival."
