Officers are looking for a group of people after a wilful vehicle fire in Renfrew.

Emergency services were called to Arkleston Road, near Arkleston Cemetery and the footbridge over the M8, around 1.45am on Thursday, 23 November, 2023.

The fire was extinguished and there were no reports of injuries.

They're treating the fire as wilful and say CCTV enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A group of people were seen running away from the area, over the footbridge towards Cockels Loan, around the time.

Anyone who saw what happened, saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time and anyone with private CCTV or dash cam footage is urged to come forward.
