Motorbike rider hospitalised after M8 crash

The 42 year old was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital on Sunday night

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward

A man is recovering in hospital after being seriously injured in a motorbike crash on the M8 on Sunday evening.

The 42 year old was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after a colliding with the barriers on his red and white Yamaha R6.

The incident happened at the on-slip road at Junction 25 to Braehead, at around 8.55pm on Sunday June 30.

Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit’s Sergeant Chris Hoggans said: “Our enquiries into this crash are ongoing and we would urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or who believes they saw the motorcycle on the road prior to the collision to get in touch.

“We believe the rider has travelled along Kings Inch Road and Old Govan Road prior to the incident at the on-slip for the M8.

“We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident.

“Anyone with information can call 101, quoting reference 3408 of 30 June.”
