Biker seriously injured in Cumbernauld crash

A motorbike rider's got serious injuries following a crash with a car in Cumbernauld.

The B8039 was closed for four hours for police to investigate the collision which happened just before 7pm on Thursday.

A 28 year old man's being treated at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow.

The driver and passengers of the Hyundai Tucson were conveyed to University Hospital Monklands, Airdrie, and released after treatment for minor injuries.

The road was closed for around four hours to allow for investigations to take place.

Sgt Gemma Blackadder said: “Enquiries are ongoing and we are asking anyone who has not already spoken to officers and can assist with our investigation to get in touch

"We would also like to see any dashcam footage from the area, especially any that captures the motorcycle prior to the collision happening."
