Two men have been jailed at the High Court in Glasgow in connection with a firearm and drug offences.

James Murray, 58, was sentenced to four years and Connor Murray, aged 29, to six years on Friday, 6 September, 2024.

They were arrested in March 2024 after officers searched a property and vehicle on Greenock Road, Bishopton, in Glasgow.

Cocaine with an estimated street value of around £149,000, along with a six-figure sum of cash and a firearm were recovered.

Detective Inspector Gordon Smith said: "This was a significant seizure that has undoubtedly disrupted the supply of illegal drugs in our community and taken a dangerous weapon off our streets.

“It also underlines our continued commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country's Serious Organised Crime Strategy.

“We hope that this sends a clear message that that we will continue to relentlessly pursue and bring to justice those involved in such criminal activities.

“Information from the public is crucial and I would urge anyone with information or concerns about drugs in their area to contact Police Scotland on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
