Manchester City 'consider' move for Kyogo

Manchester City are weighing up a move for Celtic striker Kyogo, according to a report.

The English Premier League champions are in the market for another forward after selling Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid for £82million.

The Athletic report Pep Guardiola is looking for a versatile striker who is prepared to accept a squad role at the Etihad - with Kyogo on their final shortlist along with one other player.

The Japan international has scored 73 times in 135 games since moving to Parkhead.

Kyogo is well known to City assistant Juanma Lillo, who was manager of Vissel Kobe while the 29-year old was there.

Brendan Rodgers' has already added Adam Idah to his striking department this summer for a fee that could reach £9.5million.

Daizen Maeda also impressed through the middle with two goals in their 3-1 Premier Sports Cup win over Hibernian on Sunday.

The club are also in talks with Brighton over the potential sale of Matt O'Riley.

Discussions are thought to be progressing for a fee that could be a club record sale for a Scottish side.

Fellow midfielder Reo Hatate has also been linked with a move to Leicester City in recent days.
