Man and toddler struck by train in Glasgow
Doctors say the child's injuries aren't life threatening, but the man is still in a serious condition.
A man and a two year-old child are in hospital after being struck by a train in Glasgow last night.
Officers were called to Garrowhill station shortly before 7.30pm to reports of two casualties on the tracks.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: "Officers attended and two people – an adult man and a two-year-old child – were taken to hospital where they both remain.
"Both people sustained injuries from being hit by a train.
"The child’s injuries are not currently believed to be life-threatening, and the man remains in a serious condition.
"Detectives are investigating the full circumstances of the incident and believe there were a number of people on the platform at the time who may have witnessed what happened.
"Anyone who witnessed what happened and hasn’t already spoken to police is urged to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 with reference 564 of 2 July."
