Man, 54, arrested after stabbing at Grangemouth Sports Complex

A man, 50, has been taken to hospital after an alleged stabbing at a gym in Grangemouth.

Emergency crews were called to the town's Sports Complex on Abbots Road shortly after midday.

The facility was shut off to the public until 5pm as police dealt with the incident.

Falkirk Council said in a statement: “Due to an earlier Police incident, we temporarily closed the gym at Grangemouth Sports Complex until 5pm today.”

A 54-year-old man has since been arrested.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.15pm on Wednesday, 27 September, 2023, we were called to a report of an assault in the Abbots Road area of Grangemouth.

“Emergency services attended and a 50-year-old man was taken to hospital by ambulance.

"A 54-year-old man has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing."
