Man in serious condition after Great Western Road hit and run

The 50 year old pedestrian was taken to hospital last night

A man is recovering in hospital after a hit and run in Glasgow last night.

The 50 year old pedestrian was hit by a white taxi around 1.15am on Great Western Road.

He remains in hospital and is in a serious condition. The road was reopened just before 9am.

Enquiries are ongoing, and anyone with information is being urged to contact Police Scotland.

Police Sergeant Sean Dempsey said: I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have dash-cam footage, and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible.

“Anyone with information should call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0264 of 19 November."
