Man hospitalised with serious injuries after double decker bus crash

A pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash involving a double decker bus.

The collision happened on Cowane Street in Stirling at around 12.15pm on Sunday.

The pedestrian, a 69-year-old man, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with injuries described as serious but not life-threatening.

Police are appealing for information about the crash which happened near the junction with Douglas Street.

Constable Chris Currie said: "Our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are asking anyone who witnessed what happened to get in touch.

"Also, if you were in a vehicle in the area at the time please check your dashcam footage and make contact with officers if there is anything to help with our investigation."

No one else was injured.

The road was closed following the incident and re-opened at around 6.15pm on Sunday.
