A man has pleaded guilty to assault, causing permanent disfigurement and danger to life after running over a man with his car in Barlanark.
Paul Murray, 34, struck the pedestrian, John McLelland, in June of 2022.
The city's Sheriff Court heard Murray was behind the wheel of Peugeot 207 doing a three-point turn.
Prosecutor Carrie Stevens said: "Murray mounted the pavement as Mr McLelland and another man were walking.
"Murray struck Mr McLelland causing him to fall to the ground, then drove away."
The charge states that Murray "shouted and uttered abusive remarks" towards the victim.
Police were contacted and officers found McLelland on the ground with a bleeding head wound and a towel on it.
Carrying a garden sheer
Witnesses saw Murray brandishing an item which was later recovered to be half of a garden sheer.
Murray was arrested as McLelland went to hospital - he was found to have scratches, bruising, and a head wound that would leave a scar.
Murray pled guilty to assaulting Mr McLelland to his permanent disfigurement and danger of his life.
He also admitted having a bladed garden shear in public without a reasonable excuse or lawful authority.
Sentence was deferred pending background reports by Sheriff Iain Fleming.
Murray, who appeared from custody, had his remand continued meantime.
