Man dies after being found with serious injuries in Greenock

A man has died after being found with serious injuries in Greenock last night.

The 35-year-old was discovered by officers on Drumfrochar Road around 7.20.

He was taken to hospital in Glasgow and died later.

St. Patrick's Primary has been closed to pupils as police continue their investigations into what happened.

Pupils have been transferred to other schools in the area for the day.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.20pm on Sunday, 26 November 2023, a 35-year-old man was found with serious injuries in Drumfrochar Road, Greenock.

“He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he died a few hours later.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances of the incident and a post mortem examination will take place in due course.

"Police are treating the death as unexplained meantime.”
