Man, 44, dies after being struck by lorry on Glasgow's Duke Street

Police are looking for anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch

A 44-year-old man has died after being struck by a lorry on Duke Street, near to its junction with Bellfield Street, Glasgow, around 10.40am on Thursday, 1 June.

Police and Ambulance attended and the 44-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The 45-year-old female driver of the Mercedes lorry was uninjured.

Sergeant James Crawford of the Divisional Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died.

“Our enquiries are at an early stage and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash take place who has not yet spoken to police to contact us.

“Anyone with information should contact officers through 101 with reference number 1390 of 1 June.”
